Hybrid hard drives have long been launched by Samsung and Seagate as a solution to increase the speed of conventional hard disk. Seagate launches hybrid hard disk technology with a more refined. Seagate Momentus XT, this is the name of the latest model hybrid hard drives from Seagate. In accordance with the name, the hard disk is still included in the Seagate Momentus family. Hard disk size is 2.5 inch, just like the Momentus model generally. Hard disks are included in the hard disk hybrid because it combines a conventional hard disk drive that uses a magnetic disk with a Solid State Disk (SSD) type Single Level Chip (SLC).

HARDVIEW do the testing, using the PC Mark Vantage, the hard disk is recorded significant results in each test. In the first iteration of the PC Mark Vantage, the hard disk gets 3446 points. Meanwhile, in the second and third iteration, the results obtained increased to 6166 and 6460 points. While in testing sequential file copy test, the hard disk gets results fast, 10:34 seconds to 12:02 seconds to read and write test. These results prove that the implementation of the Memory Technology Adaptive technology helps hard disk performance. This feature ensures data is often called the magnetic hard disk can be copied to the SSD.

Hitachi comes with the latest product release Hitachi Mobile Life Studio. External hard disk has a capacity of 500 GB with 2.5 inch size. This product weighs 180 grams, so easy for travel. This product has a unique design because there is a white LED light. Hitachi Mobile Life Studio Plus comes with plaid and gray. This gives the impression of stylish and elegant. But these products still use the glossy material that leaves fingerprints when touched. In the sales package there is a quick start guide, warranty, USB cable, docking and flash disk. Flash disk that is included has a capacity of 4 GB and have a hole in the back. The hole in the back is useful to unite with the docking. With the technology of “auto-sync a USB key”, you no longer need to enter in another USB port. Docking also has a strong magnet to hold the flash disk and make sure stays in place. A feature that is not owned by an external hard disk in general.

From the test results, obtained results of a read speed of 32.3 MB / s and write 33 MB / s. This product has two partitions, first partition serves as a Read Only Memory (ROM) that contains the software drivers. While the second partition can be formatted with FAT32 or NTFS file type that is useful as a data warehouse. Hitachi Life Studio is equipped with a USB cable-shaped Y. Y-shaped USB cable is used when the hard disk is under-resourced. This is potentially difficult for you when the computer has a limited number of USB ports. The problem can be solved with a USB port docking provided in the sales package. Docking has a power socket on the back to add power on the hard disk. Using the docking makes this product look thick. Another feature is compatibility with Macintosh systems. So you do not have to hassle to find drivers. You only have to change the second partition into HFS + form.

In addition to producing an external optical drive, Samsung also produces external hard disk. Samsung’s latest product called G2 Portable Series. Samsung G2 Portable made with safe and environmentally friendly, RoHS compliant and halogen-free materials. Samsung G2 Portable external has a different capacity, 250 GB, 320 GB, 500 GB and 640 GB. Samsung products that come into HARDVIEW Test Center are the Samsung HX-MU050DC with a capacity of 500 GB. Samsung G2 Portable Design inspired by the shiny leaves of trees Boabab when exposed to sunlight. Samsung Portable G2 has four color options, Cobalt Black, Silver White, Olive Green and Blue Coral.

However, this surface potential to cause precipitation of impurities that would be difficult to clean. Samsung G2 Portable indicator light into one with the top surface so that the indicator light is not visible when the hard disk in a state of death. All chassis surface and rubber mat Samsung G2 Portable uses the same color. The rubber is maintaining the position of the chassis to avoid rubbing against the surface of the table. On the chassis Samsung G2 Portable, HARDVIEW not see any screws to lock the chassis. The absence of screws on the chassis you could face difficulties when the need to spend or do anything else on the hard disk inside the chassis.

This product has a stable temperature at the time of the benchmark and no significant increase in temperature. This portable hard disk requires only a USB cable to distribute data and power from the computer. The USB cable is provided using the Mini-B type connector and has an ideal length (48 cm). Samsung does not include software turbo like other products, but the performance produced by Samsung G2 Portable above the average of other products. Samsung also includes an additional feature, the Auto Backup and Secret Zone.
Buffalo re-equip their external storage product line. This new product will complement the series DriveStation. Products that have the HD-CXU2 this series, comes equipped with data protection facilities. Protection of data in question is the data encryption in hardware. Physical form DriveStation HD-CXU2 this like most other external storage. HD-CXU2 looks attractive with the use of glossy black color on its chassis. However, the use of color like this would make the HD-CXU2 easily soiled by fingerprints. This product also has many vents on the back side and the chassis. With the ventilation, you do not have to worry about when going to use this product in a long time. This is because the existing ventilation is sufficient to maintain the ideal temperature for the hard disk inside the body of this product. With these designs, this DriveStation not require active cooling, such as using a fan. This is an advantage, because you will not be disturbed by noise from the fan. Supplies provided by the Buffalo quite abundant on their latest products. Software packages, such as MemeoBackup, ecoManager, DiskFormatter, BuffaloTools included in this external hard disk. You can access the hard disk when you have to unlock it with software DriveNavi. Software DriveNavi will immediately run when you have connected this drive with the computer or your laptop. The default password is “buffalo”.

Encryption feature on this Buffalo product proved good. This can be seen at the time of partition HARDVIEW trying to get rid of this drive without unlocking it first. As a result, the operating system refuses to delete orders and formats. Drive also will not appear if you do not make unlock with software DriveNavi provided. With this encryption feature, you are required to perform unlock each will use this product on your computer. To avoid this a little inconvenient, Buffalo provides software called SecureLockManager Easy. The function of this software to remember passwords that are used on your computer, so that the product does not need to be unlocked every time you use on your computer. However, for use on another computer, you still have to do the unlock process. Performance of the DriveStation is quite good for USB 2.0 interface storage. Results 41.92 MB / s for read and 40.96 MB / s for write in Atto, indicating high performance data transfer that held Buffalo Drivestation.

On a desktop PC, there are several components that play an important role, such as processors, motherboards, and RAM. However, in order to execute and enter into an operating system, it takes a media data container, one of them is the hard disk. There are several kinds and sizes of hard disks, one of which is a 2.5-inch external drive. Currently, hard disks have become the primary needs of computer users for various purposes, saving the jobs data, music and movie collection. Therefore, not infrequently a person uses more than one hard disk inside the PC is used.

Seagate as one of the producers who have long storage produce and secrete external drive products known by the name Seagate Free Agent, is now offering two models, the Free Agent Go and Free Agent Go Flex. What distinguishes them is the Free Agent Go is a portable external 2.5-inch drives with a relatively small dimension and the maximum capacity available to date amounted to 1 TB. While the Free Agent Go Flex is not just limited to the portable drive, but also provides a variant of disk 3.5-inch external drive that has the dimensions and weight are larger and heavier, also with a capacity of up to 3 TB. Seagate free agent go flex external desk who come to HARDVIEW Test Center has a capacity of 2 TB. This drive looks elegant in black and has a dimension of 158 x 124 x 44 mm with a weight included USB cable and adapter weighing 1.125 kg. As an external disk drive, which is owned dimensional still minimalist, so it is still possible for you to carry travel in comfort.

For additional information, you can use different types of adapters with different interfaces, including USB 3.0 and FireWire are sold separately. In the sales package there is a quick guide, USB 2.0 cable, and power adapter with five different types. Performance of the drive is quite fast. Ability to write real world testing of multiple copies of files reaches 50.51 seconds. While in single file is able to record faster times around 37.90 seconds. To read performance of multiple files, the time required is 34.91 seconds and when testing on a single file takes about 32.51 seconds. Testing synthetic benchmarks are also getting good results, with speed of 29.8 MB / s for write and 34.9 MB / s for read. In addition, this drive has the Memeo backup software in it.

ADATA re-issue of external storage products with large capacity. No half-hearted, ADATA deliver external storage with a capacity of 2 TB! This capacity is the largest capacity owned by external storage products today. NH03 is also supported by USB 3.0 interface with speeds up to 5 gb / s (625 MB / s) theoretically. Nobility NH03 is wrapped with glossy black plastic on the body. Use of this glossy material made into attractive designs. However, the use of materials and colors chassis also has drawbacks. You’ll leave fingerprints on the chassis. NH03 is equipped with ventilation in almost all sides. This much ventilation is necessary to ADATA Nobility NH03. This is because the hard disks that used a 3.5-inch and large capacity, as well as designs that do not use the fan while operating. Ventilation causes the NH03 has a low temperature during operation because the heat can be discharged directly. Its fanless design makes it quiet when in use. One other advantage is that you can put this product in a vertical and horizontal.

For business software, ADATA NH03 complement this with three kinds of software, namely TurboHDD USB, PCCloneEX std. , SecureDriveEX2. Third this software will help you optimize your product. Software TurboHDD USB drive will make it faster and faster performance. However, the HARDVIEW test results, improved performance only occurs on files with a size under 128 KB. To file with a size on top of that, there was a significant decrease in performance. PCCloneEX std. is software that helps you to perform backups. You can use the backup button located on the depan.NH03 also equipped with encryption facilities, such facilities can you use when you have installed SecureDriveEX2 provided by ADATA on the hard disk NH03.

In the real world copy test (sequential and random), NH03 get good results. With the transfer speed to 118 MB / s, surely you do not have to wait long when you’re doing backup of data as well as when moving large files. You do not need to worry if your notebook PC and do not support USB 3.0 for Nobility NH03 has backward compatibility with USB 2.0 interface. You can use a USB 3.0 expansion card if your current computer system is not equipped with USB 3.0 interface.

Power Quotient International or commonly known as PQI, since the early focus in the manufacture of computer memory modules. Their products include memory, external storage, USB flash disks, and solid state disk. For this last type, PQI makes storage in a portable version with a USB 3.0 interface. Portable version comes in two models, namely S532 and S533-E-E. This time, HARDVIEW had a chance to try a model S533-E. As was mentioned earlier HARDVIEW, S533-E is using SSDs as their data storage media. Use of this SSD media certainly brings fresh air for those who need a portable storage media with high velocity. In theory, the SSD has a transfer rate of up to 6 GB / s.

Other SSD advantages are having a greater transfer rate, quiet, and issued no vibration. It is influenced by the system of SSDs that do not work using moving parts, such as disk on your hard disk. Instead, use NAND flash memory which has a large transfer rate and access time is small. Design on this E-S533 series looks interesting, like the use of metal casing to assist heat dissipation and size that makes it easy to be taken away. Unfortunately, PQI only provide one option on the S533-E color, namely red metallic.

Panel product is classified as minimal in the absence of a few buttons. Port is only available USB 3.0 port and power connector. Turbo HDD applications are given directly into the storage will allow you to install it when this product have been recognized by the system. Use this feature to make PQI Turbo HDD S533-E is able to get good results on synthetic benchmarks. However, in real-world copy test, the S533-E performance is decreased when the feature is turned on Turbo HDD. When this feature is enabled S533 Turbo HDD-E can record 33 seconds of time in random write test. Meanwhile, when Turbo HDD is turned off, these products are listed time of 14.4 seconds. It seems, features Turbo HDD provided still not able to function optimally for the moment.

HARDVIEW test backup feature of this product. The results show that the latest PQI product is not going to make you have to wait long when you’re backing up important data that are large. For matters of power, S533-E only requires one USB 3.0 port which coincided with the data path so that you do not need the extra USB port to use this product.

Hitachi is a vendor that comes from Japan, is now increasingly being issued a storage product. X250 newest products, the drop in HARDVIEW Test Center XL1000 trail who had already been discussed. Judging from its physical size, X250 has a smaller size than the XL1000. Therefore, it is certain that the X250 is created for you who have high mobility and frequent activity of exchanging files wherever you are. To be able to operate the X250, you only need to provide two USB slots on the notebook or netbook. This is possible because the X250 does not require the use of additional power adapter to operate normally. This is certainly an added value in itself, even more so when you are required to use this storage in a car that does not allow the use of additional power adapter.

Hitachi X250 has many similarities with XL1000. One similarity is visible is from the design. X250 itself appear more slender and compact. This is because the X250 uses the internal hard disk 2.5-inch size. This compact design make the X250 can be easily taken away or kept in your notebook bag. In terms of performance, ability X250 is similar, even able to exceed the “sister”, XL1000. This is surprising, because XL1000 has a 7200 RPM spindle speed and cache of 32 MB, while the X250 has a spindle speed of 5400 RPM and only cache of 8 MB.

Hitachi X250 also comes with ArcSoft TotalMedia Backup software is located on the hard disk. With the backup software provided, you do not need to bother anymore to buy additional software to perform the backup process. Use of the software is relatively easy. You are not yet accustomed to using the backup application will not be bothered when it will want to back up important data belongs to you.

Inside the sales package, X250 equipped mini-B USB cable type Y-shaped The USB cable is the same as any other USB cable. What sets it apart is the presence of two types A USB connector the first port serves as a link of this product with a computer, while the other serves to supply the additional power. Selection of resources from the USB slot has the potential to trouble you are using a notebook, especially for those who use a notebook with a USB port minimal, for example, only two ports.
