The new version is much faster
Seagate released a 1 Terabyte hard disk it with Barracuda 7200.12, as the improvement and renewal of 7200.11. At 7200.11, using the four-platter Seagate 250 GB per platter, while at 7200.12, Seagate is only the fruit platter two pair of 500 GB capacity per platter.

Velocity is augmented thanks to the reduction in the digit of platter inside. This is evidenced by the increase in read speed of 84.2 MB / s to 102.6 MB / s. For the average write speed, increase was from 83.1 MB / s to 123.7 MB / s. Access time of the Barracuda 7200.12 is 13.7 ms, while its burst rate is 195.1 MB / s. Another impact of the use of two-platter hard disk is the sound of a quiet and temperature also decreased significantly.

Conclusion
A hard disk with large capacity has a good performance. Unfortunately, the cost is still too expensive.
